Exiled Chelsea striker, Diego Costa, has declared war on Chelsea and opened legal proceedings against the club..
According to reports in the British media, the out of favoured bad boy Costa is said to be keen on a return to former club, Atletico Madrid, but has been left frustrated over what he sees as efforts by Chelsea to block the move.
The reigning champions have refused to comment on the latest impasse with their wantaway striker, with head coach Antonio Conte replying “I don’t know” when asked when the striker might return to London.
Similarly, a Chelsea spokesman was just as coy on the matter, telling newsmen that there was “Nothing to report on that.”
Sources with knowledge of the situation however did not give details of the proceedings
There is no timeframe for Costa to return to England and the expectation remains that he will be sold to Atletico in the final three weeks of the transfer window, though the Spanish club remain some way off meeting Chelsea’s valuation of the 28-year-old.
This comes after the Blues dismissed as “nonsense” claims by a lawyer said to be representing Costa that Conte was making life unbearable for the club’s top scorer last season, Sun writes.
